Preschool Let your child grow with us! This is an enriching program that encompasses a childâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s development. Students can earn achievement stickers in 5 wellness aspects: nature, sports & wellness, enrichment, family and art.

CAVE EXPLORATION

Join our experienced naturalist John Powers for a sneak peek at one of our local caves. Learn about the local geology and history of this hidden wonder. Participants will meet on site. Please remember to bring: a water bottle, wear long pants, and be prepared to get a little dirty. Also wear athletic, walking, or hiking shoes (no sandals!) Helmets and lights provided. Cave tour (30-40 minutes) is mostly walking and stooping. Cave temp is 54 degrees. Trip will include a 3 mile round-trip hike along the C&O Canal. THE POWER OF PLAY "Welcome to Docs in the Park, a partnership developed by doctors with Parks and Recreation programs that encourages outdoor play, time spent in nature and physical fitness. Doctors “prescribe” these activities because of the benefits provided, both physical and psychological. A recent report from the American Academy of Pediatrics continues to emphasize the importance of play for a child’s healthy development. Play can take on many forms from rough & tumble outdoor play to more structured indoor play. All are important in different ways and our role as pediatricians and parents is to make adult led organized play and self-led free play a core component of childhood. In this busy world of tight schedules, technology and pressure to achieve, playtime can be lost along the way. With this loss comes a sacrifice of an important rite of childhood as well as essential building blocks of healthy child development. Kids need the opportunity to explore, interact and work through challenges both physically and behaviorally at their level while

R EG ISTR ATIO N IN F O R M ATI ON REGISTER EARLY Early program registration is encouraged since roster size is limited. Registrations are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Pre-registration is required unless otherwise indicated. REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION Confirmations are sent via e-mail, otherwise your cancelled check or credit card statement is your receipt. You will be notified if there is a problem processing your registration or if the program is cancelled. Please make a note of your program start date. REFUND POLICY Our refund policy encourages early decisions, so as to not affect other customers or our ability to deliver efficient programs. All requests for refunds must be made at least 10 business days prior to the start of the program. A 20% administrative fee will be charged per refund transaction. Registrations that require advanced tickets are not refundable. Refunds for Sport League registrations must be made prior to the listed league registration deadline. There are no refunds for missed sessions. PROGRAM CREDITS/TRANSFERS To avoid the administrative fee, a customer may transfer into another program with no additional fee. A credit may also be kept on the customer account at no additional charge. Requests for both credits and transfers can only be made 5 or more business days prior to the program start date. There are no refunds of credits.

RETURNED CHECKS A $25 fee will be charged for checks returned for non-payment. AGE POLICY Program participants must be the advertised age for a program before the program ends. All age requirements are set to benefit the participants and to make the instruction consistent and safe. DISCIPLINE The Division has a discipline policy for program participants. In the event a participant is asked to leave a program/facility, no refund will be issued. ACCOMMODATIONS Frederick County Parks and Recreation provides reasonable modifications upon request for individuals with disabilities. If you need accommodations, please call 301-600-2936 at least two weeks prior to your program start date. Circumstances may require that adjustments be made to programs, fees, schedules, etc. Frederick County Parks and Recreation staff reserves the right to make any such adjustments. We apologize for any inconvenience these errors or adjustments may cause. PROGRAM CANCELLATIONS/ WEATHER-RELATED CLOSURES Please see your instructor on the first day of your program for a schedule. If there is a change in the schedule, you will be informed by Parks and Recreation staff of the update. If you are not sure whether a program will be held, call our program cancellation line at 301-600-6291. During inclement weather, outdoor programs may be cancelled. Every effort will be made to make-up missed classes. Refunds will not be granted for rescheduled classes that are missed due to conflicts with personal schedules. The Division may cancel a program for any reasonable cause. COACHES CREDIT POLICY Any Frederick County Parks & Recreation volunteer head coach will receive a 25% credit off of the league registration fee upon completion of coaching requirements. All returning volunteer head coaches will receive a 30% credit. Head coaches are only eligible to receive one credit per team regardless of the number of children he/she has on the team; credits aren’t applicable to assistant coaches.
