Interview: Dominic Payte

Tell us a little about the background of your company. Dominic Payte was established in 2013 in West London with the aim of providing a more holistic customer focused approach to construction and interior design services. As the company has expanded we have moved to Mayfiar in central London as well as becoming a RIBA accredited Architectural practice. With a creative and experienced team from across the globe, we are a womanled company that values progression and creativity through authentic, talented and passionate people. With a full in house design and build service, we provide everything from integrated project management to one off architectural design or building works.

What is your customer process from receiving that first enquiry? It’s important to build a good working relationship with our clients so we endeavour to have a face to face meeting or video conference call as soon as possible to discuss the project. This meeting is always free and is the foundation for any work we do going forward. The meeting is a good opportunity for clients to get to know us and the services we provide as well as being able to offer them professional advice. After the meeting, we provide the potential client with a detailed quote setting out the financials for completing the project and the services we will be providing. From the initial meeting to the project’s completion, each client works directly with a dedicated project manager to ensure a seamless overarching supervision of all stages of the project to ensure the work is carried out in a timely and cost effective manner.

Is there a type of commission that gets you particularly excited? At Dominic Payte we focus on developing each client’s vision as an unique and exclusive project, making each commission an exciting and rewarding experience. Whether it’s a stand alone interior design project or a fully integrated design and build project we always strive to provide an excellent service which in itself provides a high degree of personal satisfaction.

What is your practice specialised in? At Dominic Payte we provide all the disciplines to successfully manage any project. From architectural design to construction work and interior design, it is this seamless ability to manage a project from start to finish which allows us to be so competitive with pricing and ensuring the highest possible standards throughout. Our architects, interior designers and builders will take care of all facets of the process ensuring that each client’s vision is realised with a focus on excellence and customer satisfaction.

What’s your favourite aspect about working in West London? After many years based in West London, the company has expanded and set up a new home in central London’s Mayfair. Despite this, we have an affinity with West London given the company’s beginnings and the work we have done in the area over many years and continue to work with clients there. We love the vibrancy and cosmopolitan allure of Notting Hill with its myriad of shops and cafe culture and Holland Park with its Victorian townhouses, restaurants and beautiful park. Both areas represent everything that Dominic Payte stands for with stunning architecture, tasteful design and diverse melting pot of influences.
